Upcomming iPhones X series for 2018 might be bigger and cheaper

I am a big fan of Apple products iphone8 is my favorite product from apple.But its a big news for mee as a iPhone lover that  a franken-gadget made of old Apple parts and billed as a more affordable iOS device: It appears that the budget iPhone lineup is finally goinApple’s next iPhones might be bigger and cheaperg to get its first refresh two years after the original model hit the market. The announcement could come as early as WWDC in June. In fact, Apple might be announcing several new iPhones.

News of the new Apple iphone comes out of a Russian-language regulatory filing with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). First reported by the French website Consomac, Apple has registered 11 new iPhones that will run iOS 11: A1920, A1921, A1984, A2097, A2098, A2099, A2101, A2103, A2104, A2105 and A2106. It’s unclear if these model numbers correspond to unique models or simply different sizes and carriers for the same model. One could easily assume that the difference in the A19** models and the A20** models is the difference between some sort of new iPhone SE and a completely new iPhone SE Plus. However, it’s also quite possible that Apple will reveal the rumored full-screen iPhone lineup based on the iPhone X form factor. Analysts expect Apple to sell a 6.5-inch “iPhone X Plus” and a cheaper 6.1-inch iPhone X (SE?) alongside the current 5.8-inch OLED iPhone X. But again, this is just conjecture at this point.

However, is the likelihood of Apple announcing new iPhones in the near future. A similar story about two new iPad model numbers registered with the EEC occurred in February, and then last month, Apple rolled out two new cheap 9.7-inch iPads . Another EEC filing last year predicted new MacBook models before Apple announced them at WWDC 2017.

Sems like Apple is about to have an iPhone surprise party. This could mean an update to the iPhone SE or it could mean the arrival of a whole new class of notch-sporting devices that you might be able to buy for less than $1,000. If it happens at WWDC, this would be the first time Apple has made an iPhone announcement in June since the iPhone 4 in 2010, although that announcement was spoiled pretty hard. We’ll have to wait and see, but if a cheaper iPhone really is imminent, that’s great news. I9:06 PM 4/19/2018 love it when Apple makes affordable products.

iPhone X Issues Logged So Far

Apple’s iPhone X might be the most expensive smartphone on the planet, but it’s not immune from problems…
Apple’s iPhone X costs A LOT of money. You’ll need at least $1000/£1000 to get yourself one – and don’t expect prices to change much in 2018 when the iPhone XI lands. Nope. Thousand dollar iPhones are here to stay, for better or worse.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that a phone this expensive should work perfectly. But as is often the case with technology, things don’t always pan out as you’d expect. And Apple’s iPhone X is no exception. So before you drop a big ‘ol pile of money on this phone, you might want to take a look at some of the documented issues that affect it.

Please note: not all of these issues (or even most of them) affect the majority of iPhone X handsets in circulation. Apple is great at fixing software issues with updates and has even been known to take care of hardware issues without too much fuss as well. All this article is designed to do is detail some of the reported issues surrounding Apple’s iPhone X.

A lot of reviews for a handset will glaze over problems, as most don’t turn up until after a few months of usage. Most reviewers play with a phone for a week and then write a review based on that, which is fine. But it does mean things get missed (it’s why we ALWAYS update our reviews).

iPhone X Problems – Things To Watch Out For


iPhone X Problems – Hair Pulling

Multiple people have been complaining online – Reddit, for instance – that Apple’s iPhone X likes to pull hair a bit too much. According to the myriad of reports, the iPhone X has a habit of trapping hair (facial and head-stuff) in between its bezels, and this can cause some painful issues when ending a call.


iPhone X Problems – The Display Can Become Unresponsive

The iPhone X is ALL ABOUT that OLED panel. But the tech is new for Apple, and there is definitely a learning curve. Multiple users have noted that the display will often become unresponsive to touch, usually when there is a call coming in, and the only way to fix it is to perform a reboot.
Apple’s looking into this issue right now, so expect a fix in the very near future.


iPhone X Problems – Incoming Call Delays

You get a call, you want to answer it. That’s what happens normally. But with the iPhone X, users are reporting delays in the call registering on the display. The iPhone X rings, but nothing is displayed on the screen for 5-10 seconds. Odd. And annoying.

iPhone X Problems – FACE ID Hackability

Apple says FACE ID is super secure. No one can hack it, but you and your beautiful face. However, multiple users (and YouTube people) have proved this is not exactly the case. This goes double if you have a twin or an evil doppelgänger.

Apple has also warned parents not to let their young children use their iPhone X handsets. Why? Because the kid’s face is still developing and could be confused for its parent’s by FACE ID. Hence why I prefer the ol’ fingerprint method.

iPhone X Problems – Battery Life

This one was noted by KYM’s Mike, AKA the only iPhone X user on our team. According to Mike, the iPhone X battery life is OK, but nothing special. He was apparently expecting more in this regard from Apple’s. Furthermore, after using a Pixel 2 XL for a week, Mike was blown away by the difference. The Pixel 2 XL lasts FOREVER were his exact words, I believe.

iPhone X Problems – Buzzing Speaker

Bus w**nkers aside, listening to stuff through your phone’s speakers is often necessary (unless you’re on a bus or public transport), and to do this properly you need decent speakers. The iPhone X has two front-facing stereo speakers. And they tend to get the job done.

But there have been plenty of issues about buzzing from the speakers at certain volume settings, as well as distortion whenever volume exceeds 50%. Apple’s iPhone 8 had a similar issue which was fixed with a software update, so let’s hope Apple can do the same thing for the iPhone X.

iPhone X Problems – Green Line of DEATH!

Some iPhone X users have reported a weird green line appearing on their display. Apple hasn’t officially acknowledged this one just yet, but it’s likely an issue with the OLED panel itself – they can be pretty finicky in this regard on account of their composition.


iPhone X Problems – Some iPhone X Units Are Faster Than Others

Apple uses two suppliers for its modems: Qualcomm and Intel. And word on the street (and reports too) have shown that the Intel modems are faster, which means the Intel iPhone X units feel faster when you’re using them.

Messenger Kids app arrives to Android devices and iOS (Best Social Media App For Kids)

Facebook is forging ahead with its messaging app for kids, despite child experts who have pressed the company to shut it down and others who question Facebook's financial support of some advisers who approved of the app.
Messenger Kids lets kids under 13 chat with friends and family. It displays no ads and lets parents approve who their children message.  
But critics say it serves to lure kids into harmful social media use and to hook young people on Facebook as it tries to compete with Snapchat or its own Instagram app. 
They say kids shouldn't be on such apps at all - although they often are.
Facebook is forging ahead with its messaging app for kids, despite child experts who have pressed the company to shut it down and others who question Facebook's financial support of some advisers who approved of the app
'It is disturbing that Facebook, in the face of widespread concern, is aggressively marketing Messenger Kids to even more children,' the Campaign For a Commercial-Free Childhood said in a statement this week.
Messenger Kids launched on iOS to lukewarm reception in December. It arrived on Amazon devices in January and on Android Wednesday. 

Throughout, Facebook has touted a team of advisers, academics and families who helped shape the app in the year before it launched.
But a Wired report this week pointed out that more than half of this safety advisory board had financial ties to the company. 
Facebook confirmed this and said it hasn't hidden donations to these individuals and groups - although it hasn't publicized them, either.





Facebook's donations to groups like the National PTA (the official name for the Parent Teacher Association) typically covered logistics costs or sponsored activities like anti-bullying programs or events such as parent roundtables. 
One advisory group, the Family Online Safety Institute, has a Facebook executive on its board, along with execs from Disney, Comcast and Google.
'We sometimes provide funding to cover programmatic or logistics expenses, to make sure our work together can have the most impact,' Facebook said in a statement, adding that many of the organizations and people who advised on Messenger Kids do not receive financial support of any kind.

But for a company under pressure from many sides - Congress, regulators, advocates for online privacy and mental health - even the appearance of impropriety can hurt. 
Facebook didn't invite prominent critics, such as the nonprofit Common Sense Media, to advise it on Messenger Kids until the process was nearly over. 
Facebook would not comment publicly on why it didn't include Common Sense earlier in the process.
'Because they know we opposed their position,' said James Steyer, the CEO of Common Sense. 
The group's stance is that Facebook never should have released a product aimed at kids. 'They know very well our position with Messenger Kids.'


HOW DOES THE MESSENGER FOR KIDS APP WORK?

  • Messenger Kids is a standalone app that can be controlled from a parent’s Facebook app.
  • While it can be used on a child’s own device, the service does not create a Facebook account for the child, or give them access to their parents’ accounts.
  • After setting up the account, parents can approve the contacts they will allow their child to chat with.
  • Kids cannot connect with contacts that have not been approved by their parents, according to Facebook.
  • Children also can't delete messages, and the app does not contain ads or in-app purchases.
  • Children can video chat, send photos, videos, and text messages to their approved contacts.                                   

To download the app, one must follow the following steps:  

Download: First, download the Messenger Kids app on your child's iPad, iPod touch, or iPhone from the App Store.
Authenticate: Then, authenticate your child's device using your own Facebook username and password. This will not create a Facebook account for your child or give them access to your Facebook account.
Create an account: Finish the setup process by creating an account for your child, where all you'll need to do is provide their name. Then the device can be handed over to the child so they can start chatting with the family and friends you approve.
Add contacts: To add people to your child's approved contact list, go to the Messenger Kids parental controls panel in your main Facebook app. To get there, click on 'More' on the bottom right corner in your main Facebook app, and click 'Messenger Kids' in the Explore section


Few weeks after Messenger Kids launched, nearly 100 outside experts banded together to urge Facebook to shut down the app , which it has not done. 
The company says it is 'committed to building better products for families, including Messenger Kids. 
That means listening to parents and experts, including our critics.'
One of Facebook's experts contested the notion that company advisers were in Facebook's pocket. 
Lewis Bernstein, now a paid Facebook consultant who worked for Sesame Workshop (the nonprofit behind Sesame Street) in various capacities over three decades, said the Wired article 'unfairly' accused him and his colleagues for accepting travel expenses to Facebook seminars.

A Single-Character Message Can Crash Any Apple iPhone, iPad Or Mac

A Single-Character Message (in Telugu — the 3rd Most Spoken Indian Language) Can Crash Any Apple #iPhone, iPad and Mac.


Only a single character can crash your iPhone and block access to the Messaging app in iOS as well as popular apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Outlook for iOS, and Gmail.
First spotted by Italian Blog Mobile World, a potentially new severe bug affects not only iPhones but also a wide range of Apple devices, including iPads, Macs and even Watch OS devices running the latest versions of their operating software.
Like previous 'text bomb' bug, the new flaw can easily be exploited by anyone, requiring users to send only a single character from Telugu—a native Indian language spoken by about 70 million people in the country.



Once the recipient receives a simple message containing the symbol or typed that symbol into the text editor, the character immediately instigates crashes on iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches and Apple TVs running Apple's iOS Springboard.
Apps that receive the text bomb tries to load the character, but fails and refuses to function properly until the character is removed—which usually can be done by deleting the entire conversation.


The easiest way to delete the offending message is by asking someone else to send a message to the app that is crashing due to the text bomb. This would allow you to jump directly into the notification and delete the entire thread containing the character.
The character can disable third-party apps like iMessage, Slack, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Gmail, and Outlook for iOS, as well as Safari and Messages for the macOS versions.
Telegram and Skype users appear to be unaffected by the text bomb bug.



Apple was made aware of the text bomb bug at least three days ago, and the company plans to address the issue in an iOS update soon before the release of iOS 11.3 this spring.
The public beta version of iOS 11.3 is unaffected.
Since so many apps are affected by the new text bomb, bad people can use the bug to target Apple users via email or messaging or to create mass chaos by spamming the character across an open social platform.

Microsoft Photos Companion app for Android and iOS released, lets you quickly transfer photos and videos to PC

Microsoft today released a new photos app named ‘Photos Companion” for Android and iOS which is designed to make it easier to transfer photos or videos from a phone to a PC. The new app is released as a part of the Microsoft’s Garage project which lets employees release experimental apps.

The app has been in development for quite some time which links directly to Windows 10’s built-in photos app. But if you are already using OneDrive or or any other cloud service, this app is probably isn’t for you. Microsoft says that it has designed the App keeping students in focus making it easier for students in getting the content captured on their phones onto their project PCs.


The app works by temporarily linking (via QR code) to the Windows 10 photos app. You can send multiple photos over the same Wi-Fi network, and they appear immediately in the photos app installed on your smartphone. It doesn’t permanently link to a Windows 10 PC, but comes in handy if you don’t use any sort of Drive to backup photos.

Furthermore, you can start a video project in the Photos app on the PC, and add pictures and videos from your phone directly into a project. You can further enhance, edit, customize with ink, and share photos with friends. The Photos Companion App is available for Android and iOS and you can download right away.

Xbox party chat launches on Android and iOS

Keep up with your gaming buddies when you're away from home.




It's now easier to keep up with your Xbox gaming pals when you've ventured beyond the living room. After several weeks of public testing, Microsoft has launched party chat in its Xbox apps for Android and iOS. If you use Xbox Live, you can use this to your fellow party members through voice or text wherever you happen to be. That can be helpful if you want to keep up with an in-game raid while you're rushing home, or if you just want to leave a party channel open as a semi-permanent group chat.

This gives Microsoft a slight edge over Sony: you can certainly message fellow PlayStation owners through official apps, but live voice chat isn't an option unless you turn to a third-party service. While this probably won't make or break your choice of console, it's something to consider if you frequently play online with a close-knit group.
